It's simple..

Keep your check book ledger (check number, date, amount) with you all the time. When you buy something, (either by writing a check or using the debit card) IMMEDIATELY deduct it on the ledger. You'll know exactly where you are at all the time, and eliminate those very expensive overdraft charges. If you start to make it a habit, it will become very very easy...Do the same with deposits.

Also, if your bank offers it, put a few dollars ($100) in a savings account linked to the checking account. If you make a minor error in math, they'll take the overdraft from your savings account (remember to put it back !) instead of charging you for overdraft and or bounced checks.

It takes a little dedication for about 2 weeks, then you have it down pat !

Good Luck

It ain't rocket science. Keep track of your deposits and debits. If you even THINK you're getting close to a zero balance, don't write the check (or use the debit card). Self-control has to come from within.

Balance your account every month as soon as you get the statement. Simple.

Yeah its occurred some instances (incredibly once I certainly have scheduled expenditures that I forget approximately approximately or bought something it is now no longer pending and then it purely pops up a week or so later). Oh and yah my overdraft is my mark downs account yet while its little or no and on the brink of payday they wont circulate so as that way i do no longer could pay that circulate cost.
