do you leave a gift under the charity wishing tree at the mall or shopping centre?

i leave 2, one for a boy and one for a girl, usually around the $15 range and mark an age on it. a small gesture that can put a smile on a childs face.

Yes. My school (I'm in 8th grade) does a mile walk were people donate food cans and then walk a mile for fun during recess. And during the recess we do a can food drive. Also during the spring we have a compatition for each grade (k-8th). We all see who can get the most money and then we perchase animals, and then donate them. like a farmer can get 3 cows for milk to live on.
Also at the high school I'm going to go to the band has a BIG concert were you have to buy tickets to get in and listen to the best songs the band can play. All the money then goes to a charity that needs it.
I love the fact that we do these things to help the community. Mostly the compatitions though, because I'm in band.

Yep! We have done it for the last 3 years in a row. It makes Christmas feel extra special. I hope that our gifts makes a real difference to a child at Christmas.

This year instead of giving a gift to the wishing tree, we sponsored a whole family (through the local community centre). A grandma and 4 young kids. We gave special Christmas food and gifts.

I feel that we are really lucky to be in a position to be able to afford to help other people celebrate. I love spreading Christmas cheer.

No, but only because we don't have that here. It's a good idea, and if I were any better off, money-wise, at Christmas, I would.
