I don't really understand where all the fear is coming from. The Mayans Calendar, which is not predicting the end of the world in 2012, but the start of a new era on December 21st, 2012. The year 2012 marks the end of the "Great Cycle." When it came to mathematics, time and calendars, the Maya were geniuses. Believing that time repeated itself in cycles.

Why do the Americans prefer to live in fear 24/7? Didn't we already go thru this "the world is coming to an end in 2000?"

It's actually 2012 but...

Just because the calendar ended doesn't mean it's the end of the world. How does anyone know that who ever was making the calander got bored and just stopped at that year because he was tired or maybe he or she died??

Anyway, I don't think it's going to end because my friend pointed out that in the bible that it says no one will know when it will end and by putting a date on it doesn't that conflict???

Throwing an idea out...

umm...isn't it supposed to be 'December 21, 2012 that the Mayans thought would be the end of the world.

In any case, don't get yourself worked-up over it.
You're so lucky have that to worry about, worry about something regular like getting an 'A' on your math test tomorrow maybe?

I don't know what I believe, but the end of the world in our life-time? I don't think so/

What is the 'end of the world' exactly? The end of the human race, the end of life on earth?\

These are the questions that haunt me. But for now, I mostly have to deal with day-to-day problems...:D

"they" have been prediction the end of the world for a milennia, and all times have been wrong, I seroiusly doubt we will die on that day, dont allow the fear to run your life, even if we do die tomorrow you should live as if tomorrow never comes thats what God wants form all of us to live life to the fullest, go out and help someone, give of yourself fully without expectations everyday and yes someday our time will come, whether all at once or just in our own time, but until then relax, be merry and celebrate.

IF you are right (BIG IF) do whatever you like for the next week, and don't worry because if you get arrested...or hurt or even killed, SO WHAT ?? At least you go out with a BIG SMILE on your face. Then consider: WHT IF YOU ARE WRONG ? and then decide.
