George Strait, I met him at a restaurant just outside of town where I live, He and his wife Norma were their and we met as I was walking out and he was walking in. My girlfriend at the time got his autograph. He was actually very nice. Then a few years later while at a convenience store I ran into Johnny Rodriguez buying a 6 pack of beer. I saw him from a distance and thought to myself "Man he sure looks familiar" and sure enough, it was him. He was on his way to California at the time to do a show. I also met Townes Van Zandt when I was working at a drug and alcohol rehab. he was there for treatment right before he released "Pancho & Lefty" over to Willie & Merle. He played that song for us several times while he was their..Great man.. sorry to see him go.
