I heard that you also could start rating questions from the get-go and not have to wait until level 2 and that EVERY thumbs up got you a point

I miss that! I would much rather thumb up/down a question. I was sad when they got rid of it and went to the dumb "star".

yes, I'm regular but it must be long long back... but i don't understand what's wrong with the star system...the questioner has a choice to make and say how much he liked the answer and comment on that ..that's all..
