If the spring on a valve brakes the result will be a "Dropped Valve". Its possible that the valve will kiss the piston head resulting in either the valve bending or punching a hole through the piston.

the spring wouldn't close and remain open which can cause a lot of expensive damage replace the valve spring asap and go to the main dealer they with have the manufacturers genuine parts some after market part can have problems if they have been made incorrectly hope I've helped

The valve will drop under its own weight and be hit by the piston. This is noisy, stops that cylinder firing, and can cause serious expensive damage. Think £500 minimum, new engine maximum if you don't fix it.

This cylinder will be dead, basically no compression. The intake won't let fuel and air in, and exhaust won't let out, well exaust, and can cause major internal damage.

if its an intake valve you wont get enough fuel and air... if its an exhaust valve you wont get the spent fuel out
