Today is the 63rd anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
The battle of the Bulge consumed the last reserves of the German forces. The allied forces also lost men and equipment but they had huge reserves. Now the door for an invasion of Germany was open. Between the months of February and March the allied forces reached the Rhine River without any heavy German resistance. Finally they crossed the river and easily conquered almost all the country with the exception of the eastern zones, captured by the Russian forces.
