I have always felt that Maddux was a better pitcher and slipped under the radar because he wasn't as glamorous as Clemens, and didn't throw splintered bats at Mike Piazza and the like. But Maddux has nearly as many wins, the same ERA, and the same number of Cy Youngs as Clemens had before he touched steroids, (and in truth, Maddux deserved at least one more than he got.)

Edit: Yes, a Yankees fan would defend Clemens. You get two juicing pitchers on one team. But I didn't give you the thumbs down, I wasn't asking you to agree with me, I wanted your opinion.

I have to disagree, Clemens, in fact, probably deserved two less Cy Youngs than he got. And I don't just mean because of steroids.

Mosh, yes, it is hard to say he slipped under the radar. Perhaps I meant he was more overshadowed by Clemens.

I agree, Maddux is definately one of the best pitcher of this era. I never thought Clemens was better, and that they were very different pitchers. I always loved watching Maddux pitch, his finesse, control, and class definately puts him over Clemens. Tossing the splintered bat back to Piazza was definately a show of poor sportmanship.

I'm a Yankee fan and I've always preferred Maddux. I don't understand your saying that he slipped under the radar being that he was in the playoffs for pretty much the entire 90's and has racked up 340 wins. Not that Clemens is that shabby of a pitcher of course, but come on, it's Greg Maddux. (-:

I have always been a Maddux fan since i was little.I have never liked Clemens even before i knew he used steroids. If you compare awards and stats Maddux is alot better. He got the awards without the help of steroids.

Greg Maddux, and plus the year that the Atlanta Braves won their World Series was his best and one of the best post season performances I ever seen from a SP in my lifetime.

I don't think that Clemens took steroids. I highly doubt it. I guarentee he didn't. And I'm a Red Sox fan! But I've always like Maddux better anyway. He has an awesome ERA.

I always had the same opinion and Maddux has aged better even with Clemens on the sauce.

Maddux 4 def. He doesn't get hurt as often as roger and he is a much better fielder w/ 15 or 16 gold gloves

Definitely Greg Maddux
And I have always hated Clemens after he betrayed the Red Sox for the yanks
So, I've always been a Cubs fan and I've always loved Mad Dog
He is the best modern day pitcher and one of the best ever.
He's better than Clemens.
