What happened to the family?
Compare the trial to other famous trials, and what were the similarities?

"The family" is still existing. the killers are all still in jail, and constantly denied parole. "The family" is no longer an organized group or consisting of originals (the people that hung with Charlie renounced him after the trial, except for some of the ones in jail) but he still has followers, and people who read his writings alot, try to follow his way of life he preached. (minus the killings).
there are tons of books on him and his group, and alot of current stuff on the net about them.

All the people directly involved in the killings are still in jail while most of the others have long since left the group and have gone on with their lives. The killers keep coming up for parole and have been denied over and over again. They'll die in jail.

As for similarities to other trials, the main one I can think of was that it involved completely senseless murders and none of the killers showed any remorse.
