My first high school mascot was a rockachaw. It was St. Stanislaus, a religious school. A rockachaw is the thing in the grass that sticks to your sock (sticky ball) and has sharp points on it. So our mascot, Rocky the Rockachaw had this pointy ball head and waved around a stick with a rockachaw on the end of it. I have never heard of a sillier mascot. :>)

In my home town, the high school was the Bullpups and the college was the Bulldogs.
But I went to college elsewhere and there our mascot was the Jet Bird and we were the Jets.

We were deprived. I went to an all girl's Catholic high school and they didnt play sports. If we had a mascot it would probably have been called something like The Wet Hens, because a lot of the nuns were always madder than-----

We started off with a Quaker...kinda like the oatmeal guy. Then when I was in 10th grade, they switched to what looked like a bulldog on steroids.
