As has been pointed out in other articles, blogs etc. the Iraqi Constitution which we helped to write states:
Article (30):

1st -- The state guarantees social and health insurance, the basics for a free and honorable life for the individual and the family -- especially children and women -- and works to protect them from illiteracy, fear and poverty and provides them with housing and the means to rehabilitate and take care of them. This shall be regulated by law.

Article (31):

1st -- Every Iraqi has the right to health service, and the state is in charge of public health and guarantees the means of protection and treatment by building different kinds of hospitals and health institutions.

2nd -- Individuals and associations have the right to build hospitals, dispensaries or private clinics under the supervision of the state. This shall be regulated by law

I have not heard that and the link for the media is not working. It would be a bad thing but on a side note there will be a meeting on Tue 18 DEC 07 in the capital to change the laws on ownership of newspapers and television stations. They are trying to slip a law by us to let the conglomerates own even more. It sounds like no big deal just like health care for Iraqis. Government is trying to control the sources of news and the fewer people to speak out on travesties the better.

i do no longer think of of it concerns precisely the situation the money comes from this is going to cost so plenty better money than what it does perfect now. If those costs are surpassed directly to the shopper then all persons will pay for it that way if regulation is surpassed to reinforce up taxes to cover it then (those with out smart accountants will probable might choose to pay) the regular public will pay. IF the fee spiral must be controlled as is develop into hoping by potential of Obama then the wellbeing besides by potential of actuality the profitability of yank corporation will enhance. the main considerable great factor approximately complication-free wellbeing care is the humanity afforded by potential of having help to those in choose. Reluctance and scoffing at its proposed income is end results of the the great ABUSE perpetrated by potential of unscrupulous operators who've been defrauding the Medicare & diverse structures. the european kit of fee extra tax is a validation of the theory of all individuals paying a share for the complication-loose good---it sounds fairly large yet my chum in Germany who has corollary monetary issues has no scientific coverage and is tax broke besides!! Germany continues to be figuring out to purchase the absorption of Deutsche Demokratische Republic so might no longer be a honest parallel even although our kit is overburdened with welfare for damaging people and for Wall street. by potential of actuality our government is now indoors the corporation of bailing out failed firms jointly as they attain a diverse length what's the definition of earnings any way ??

No, the money is not being used to establish socialized healthcare in Iraq, it is being used to rebuild their national health system. There is a big difference.
