Yes, every morning and afternoon...i buy wild bird seed from Tesco, peanuts, and seed feeders with fat in them - sometimes i buy potato scones and pancakes with honey in them...
I love watching them feeding on my window sill - and the jackdaws that were born in spring this year in my neighbours ivy still come to the window along with robins, starlings, finches, blackbirds, and the odd crow...
Earlier this yr i had a female blackbird come to the window every day - she would sit on the corner and slowly make her way to the scone, fly off and come back minutes later for another piece - love bird watching..
Hi Vincent, we meet again - i seem to remember you asked a question about wild-life....

Human involvement in the physical feeding of wild animals is generally a very poor idea. For the protection of animals, we want them to possess as much fear of us as they can. By feeding the animal, you are inhibiting to collect food on its own. Animals that become acclimated to this process will approach humans more readily than they would normally. This can lead to several other scenarios that may be fatal. Such as a fox approaching a hunter who is out looking for foxes. Or a fox approaching a small child, which alarms a parent who happens to have a gun. Or a fox approaching someone stuck in traffic can put them at risk of getting hit by a car. They will more readily cross streets to get to a populated area which also puts them at risk of being hit by a car. I recently read in my American Association of Zookeepers journal that a stud was done on deer who were lodged in a heavily trafficked zoo and one that was less frequented. These deer were part of a captive release program. In tracking the deer once released, it was found that those deer from the less visited zoo were significantly more likely to survive in the wild than those which were from the more visited zoo.

I feed the birds 365 days a year. I know they can probably take care of themselves, but I still like to see them gather for their daily treat. My friends laugh at me when I tell them I watch the birds, but I dont care.

It is hot where I am. 32 degrees Celsius. So I have no problems but when winter comes we don't really see any. They just seem to disappear. :)

My neighbor feeds them pretty well. I say pretty well because the little birdies leave 'healthy' presents on my car. Ungrateful little ********.

No, they'll become as bad as the seagulls at McDonalds. They have to fend for themselves, that's the only way they'll make it.
