I have a leopard gecko. I am going to get a bigger cage. I want to buy her a companion. Can a crested gecko and a leopard live in the same vivarium?

No. Unlike what kittenslayer said fat tailed geckos cannot live in the same enclosure as a leopard gecko. They too require different conditions. One of these would be higher humidity. Also, fat tailed geckos are less outgoing than leopard geckos, so it could get bullied. If you want a cage mate for your leo then get another female leo. I have 4 females living in a 30 gallon long tank and they do fine.

No, i would reccomend never mixing two different species of reptiles together. If you want to get her a companion how about another female leopard gecko. Anyway, Crested geckos and leopard geckos are found from two different parts of the world and do require different requirements, so i strongly suggest not putting these two geckos together.

Well they are both nocturnal, but leos need belly heat to digest, and they need insect only diet. Cresteds do not need any heat or light at normal room temps, and they eat a crested diet mixed with fruit baby food and a few insects weekly. They also require higher environmental humidity, and leos just need a moist warm hide. It is never a good idea to mix species, unless you have huge enclosures like zoos do and can provide different environments within the same enclosure.

No.

One is tropical arboreal, one is a desert ground dweller.

The only other species to put with a leopard gecko is a fat tail gecko, as long as it isn't two males.

Easy answer, NO! They require completely different living conditions, diet, etc.!

Leopard geckos do not need a companion. They are reptiles with no need for companionship. You'd be better off keeping her alone.

im not exactly sure, from what ive read, their heat needs are not very diffrent. both need 80-88F, only problem i can think of is the fact they are both diff species, and crested need hieght more than width while leopards are opposite. they both dine on crikets...i wouldnt advise mixing these two diff species though, maybe another leopard [or two] will make ur guy happier. just dont house two males together!!
