Run an anti virus program (AVG is free)

Run Spybot Search and Destroy (also free)

and then a registry cleaner like CCLeaner (again free)

See if that helps.

Do a defrag or 2. Go Start, All Programs (xp) or programs (vista) then accessories, system tools, Disk Defragmenter.

Run it a few times. The bottom bar should be mainly large chunks of blue and white.

Run it every few days and it should keep everything tidy.
It speeds up after a few times. The first 1 might take half an hour or so.

You could also try deleting your temp files. For that right click on start, then explore and then locate the folder "cookies" in the bar down the left side of the screen. Delete everything in there exept "Index"

Another thing you could possibly do would be to get AVG anti virus, Lavasoft Adaware and PC Tools Spyware Doctor. Run them and they will get rid of any spyware or viruses that might be slowing you down. If You have Norton 360 or norton anti-virus, you dont need to bother with AVG.

Oh, and empty your recycle bin.

Run a virus check (You can find some free) and then what you can do is you can buy special disks from the companey you bought your computer from and what the disks will do is erase everything on your computer and it will be like you just got the computer....

- There are three disks I think and total I think are about 100$

complete disk clean up,spyware/virus scan, then defragment your harddrive.

To clean out the inside of your pc you could use canned air

Try running your disk defragmenter....not everyone does it but when you do it works great. Go to control panel and it will be in there! Good luck!
