...or what. Granted if he would have scored it would have given the cowboys only about a 2 % chance to comeback. To be that unselfish at the end of a game and take away that 2% chance was the smartest play of the year.

Perhaps I'm only living in the moment. Please give me some other exaples of extraordinary unselfish heads up plays.

Guns1965... the Cowboys were 10 point favorites in the game, how does Westbrook falling at the 1 yard line amount to a point spread scam?

And the O/U was 48 and 1/2 points..

Idiot.

Westbrooks decision was as heads-up a play by a running back as there's ever been. The Cowboys are quite capable of scoring very quickly, as was illustrated in their game against Detroit last week .Good players in this situation are always aware that if they make the first down, the game's over...but I've never seen a running back take it to the extreme that Westbrook did...that was just amazing.

It was definitely heads-up, as well as an unselfish and team-first type of move. Very refreshing to see a professional athlete still has that in him. Thumbs-up to Westbrook.

Another play that sticks out in my mind is Don Beebe chasing down Leon Lett in a Super Bowl some years back. Even though the game was well in hand for Dallas, Beebe hustled anyway to catch Lett from behind, causing him to fumble away a sure TD.

Beebe's play was a great example of how to hustle and play hard all the time, regardless of the score.

I have never seen anyone pull such an unselfish move that Westbrook did to let his team run out the clock. Anything can happen in this league and there is always that chance that Dallas can score quick and get an onside kick. Westbrook showed how smart of a football player he really is and that his team comes first. More players should act like that.

confident, definitely. i admire your rationalization. I submit to in suggestions somebody asking a query approximately Rondo or Westbrook being a greater perfect defender and out of 15 solutions, Hog Wild and that i've got been the only people to %. Westbrook

Stupid.

If he scored it wouldn't be running up the score and plus that 2% chance of Dallas getting the ball back and scoring to win could of happened and would of been the DUMBEST move by a player in history. Instead everyone is giving him praise???

What is the big deal if he scored??
His personal stats matter too..... Stupid....

If I were a Cowboy player it would make me feel worse knowing the score could have been higher.
A slap in the face!
They didn't stop Westbrook but he fell down on the 1 yard line... C'mon everyone...

Another example of unselfish play is when Tom Brady let Maroney run the ball today and not throw 5 TD passes against the hapless Jets.

sandand_surf: Very funny.... Hasn't Andy Reid's 2 son's been prosecuted for drugs amongst other things????? Maybe no arrests for the teams players but JUST the coaches son's.. Even more embarassing to me.
True Reid is just in denial over his lack of parenting!!!

If the Eagles were competing for a playoff spot, Westbrook would be in the hunt for NFC Player of the Year. He has quietly put together a solid season for a team going nowhere.

Unselfish -- Jack Youngblood, L.A. Rams, played the entire 1979-1980 playoffs (including the 1980 Super Bowl) with a fractured left fibula.

It showed that Westbrook had his head in the game and knew that Dallas had no more time out. He gave up a TD to ensure that the Eagles won. Who knows what could have happened if Dallas got the ball back?

And the chick who was dissing the Eagles, basically saying they have no class? please give me some examples. Like, oh, when was the last time an Eagle was arrested for a crime, or the team was caught taping the signals of other teams? Please, tell me in what way are they classless. True Reid is in denial regarding McNabb, but this team is full of players that I don't have to be embarrassed about supporting.

I was impressed by the play, but also puzzled. Is there really as much as a 2 percent chance for a team to score two TD's in under two minutes with no time-outs? (I can't remember ever seeing it happen.)

And wasn't there also a chance that, after Westbrook's play, his team would fumble and lose the game? (I know I've seen that happen.)

Great heads up move by Westy. It gave the Boys no chance whatsover of getting the ball back and pulling off some miracle.

But man oh man...wonder how many fantasy owners lost their playoff game because of it! LOL...just goes to show you how huge of a factor luck is in fantasy games.

As a Cowboys fan, I thought it was. Although I couldn't see the Cowboys coming back to win, even if he'd have scored. I was also glad to see that there is someone who is not all about himself still playing, and puts his team first, before his stats.....
