Hi I prefer Avons Mineral Powder, trust me you have never tried anything like this before. Its fantastic and if you wear it you wont need to wear a powder on top and you wont even need to apply a liquid foundaiton first to get the coverage you want., A little goes a long way so you dont need a lot and the coverage is amazing. I love it and its great for my sensitive oily skin doesnt irritate it and covers shine and blemishes what more could I want.
I hate matt foundations as the dont work as they usually make my skin look even more shiny so they I use a pressed powder on top and that can make skin look dry. But if I use the seperately the liquid makes my skin look oily and if I use just a pressed powder the coverage is none exsistant and all my spots and blemishes are visable.
So I always had to us both until now

Either one to be honest for different reasons
Or both depending on skin type
If you have oily skin then a powder is best because it adds a matte finish so your skin doesnt look as shiny
If you have drier skin, liquid is better because it helps to moisturise as well as cover your face which makes your skin look softer
Personally, i start with a small amount of powder to absorb excess oil, then a coat of liquid foundation for evn cover, then a tiny bit of powder again to get the matte finish
It also stays on all day this way
Remember to remove it as soon as you dont need it anymore to help your skin breathe and to stop pores becoming too clogged
Also, invest in a good foundation that matches your facial tone. Its worth that bit extra to avoid looking dead or like you have been tangoed ;)
Haha Hope I Helped :)

Liquid is better because you can get more coverage.
Powder does not give enough coverage and looks chalky close up on the face.
You should use liquid and then a tiny little bit of translucent loose powder to set the foundation.

i use liquid and then a light layer of powder to set the make up. using just powder leaves my face looking like i have chalk on it and just liquid i end up looking a bit shiny!
