Why don't they give the guy a chance? Apparently, he has raised nearly $16,000,000 without their help and against their insults. Are they blind?

Looking for someone that has a chance

Because Ron Paul (who I respect ans an individual) is not electable. Look, by philosophy, I'm a libertarian myself, though politically I'm mostly liberal.

The problem isn't the libertarian philosophy. Its the political agenda. Like it or not, you cannot simply take any philosophy (libertarian or any other) and use it as a political agenda. One has to address real world problems that don't have neat eitehr-or solutions. For example, libertarian philosophy holds that the state role in the economy should be limited to enforcing contracts--and little more. But--witht he focus also on individual rights ad liberty--what do you do about corporations that actively discriminate against those who happen to be of a different ethnicity?

I know--the theory s that firms that did that in a truely free economy would soon weed themselves out by creating a competitive disadvantage for themselves. In the real world THIS DOES NOT WORK. When--and if--political libertarians get over their obsession with idealistic purity and start to hammer out policies that can work, they'll have something to offer. That's a lot tougher than relying on quotes from "Atlas Shrugged." But that's what politics--not philosophy--is al about.
Thats why he is being ignored and that's why Ron Paul is not going to be elected--or nominated.

They're looking for a ray of hope, not a deathray. Ron Paul could never win a general election, not even close. He can't win the primary, either, so it's a non-issue. Even if Paul did get enough momentum going that the MSM couldn't ignore him anymore, he'd just be cut down in the caucuses, like Dean was.

I find him appealing, but at the same time I'm very concerned about our health care system and wonder what he would do (or not do) with it.
I don't like how the debates and media attention have been singling out certain candidates and completely cutting out others. We just need to stay informed online as best we can -- and remember everyone who's running, consider them all when we vote -- and pay NO attention to the polls or let the media dictate who we should vote for.

Danger Will Robinson !
He has his attributes, yes. But the campaign promises are very far fetched. I think he may run Independent, some can if they are able? Another Pat Paulsen or Ross Perot. That concept hurt him worse than abolish the IRS. It is still not off the table. Thanks for the link. I'll research him further.

Ron Paul has a very small support base. He is sort of Like Mr. Dean, but not anywhere near as popular. Also lets not forget that this is the same guy that said he would get rid of the military. A strong military is a corner stone of Republican belief system. There is no way that they are going to nominate any candidate that goes against one of the four pillars of their entire value system.

He is against the Iraq war and for them that is a big deal. They could accept a twice divorced, pro-choice, drag queen or a flip flopper or a man who has pardoned the most criminals than all of his predecessors because they support the war. You know how much the GOP cares about values.

I often wonder this myself. I think that the reason the party seems to ignore him is the exact reason many of us admire him. He is not a party hack and has shown his Independence on many occasions. In my book, he is more of a true Republican than are any of the other candidates running and, he is honest about his positions on issues.

Many of the older people do not want change and are satisfied with the status quo even tho it has changed dramatically over the last few decades.

Because he is absolutely freaking nuts.

Blind supporters like you can't even explain what we are going to do without the Federal Reserve.

I didn't think someone like yourself would associate with the #1 white supremacist candidate in the nation, Chi.
