Golden years lets see, medicare don't pay poop.Senior discounts means they charge to much to start with.
You can survive only on social security if you live in a third world country.
If I could go back 50 years I would have become a politician and learn to steel from the seniors and have them believe I was helping them

I wouldn't change a thing. I was going to say that I wouldn't have married my first husband but then I wouldn't have my lovely sons. I have spent a lot of money on travel, but if I didn't I would have an old age with no exiting memories. I have invested in property, and that will see me through, but some people have not had that chance, and it is sad to see people struggling.

At first I want to say "Everything".
But then, all my bad choices, all my good ones, all the times that I should and didn't or did and shouldn't have have brought me to where I am today and made me who I am.
I pretty much like who I am.
Making other decisions would have made me someone else. Maybe I would have liked him, too. Maybe not.
Picking a different first wife would not have given me my wonderful children and would not have taught me patience.
Choosing a different second wife may not have taught me humility.
No, I don't think that I would change anything.

I have a pension plus my wife and I get SS. It adds up to about half of what I earned when I was working, but I don't have the expense of supporting my kids anymore, so we are doing okay. They call it the "Golden years" cause that is when all the doctors get your gold. That is if you have any.

Where does one start. So much I would have done differently. save save save. Not easy to do as a single parent of 2 for most of my 20s. But I would not change that either.

I've retired from the military and the Postal service, if it weren't for SS for the wife and self we'd be paupers instead of 'comfortable'.
