I hate turtlenecks. Wearing a turtleneck is like being strangled by a really weak guy. All day. Like, if you wear a turtleneck and a backpack, it's like a weak midget trying to bring you down.

I'm in 7th grade lol. Anyways, multiply twice for the first part. So it would be 8x + -16 = 8x + 14 and you have to get x alone so kill one of them. (My math teacher taught us this way and it's kind of hard to get it out of your head after 2 years.) Now it's -16 + 14 and because of this the answer is empty set or a 0 (zero) with a / (slash) over it. That means it has no answer. Your equation isn't wrong there are millions of the same type and i've done a lot. The other people did it wrong cuz they subtracted 14, but your suppose to get rid of an x first. I promise you this is the answer. They seriously got it wrong. I learned this recently.

Okay distribute 2 to 4x and -8. You get 8x -16 right? Then you get this: 8x-16=8x+14. Minus 8 from both side and they cancel each other out and then you get -16=14. That means there is no answer and that -16 (not equal sign) 14.

First, use the distributive property to multiply the 2 times 4x-8, giving you 8x-16=8x+14. Then, you add 16 to both sides while subtracting 8x from both sides, giving you 30=0x. Hang on, did you copy the question down right? This question doesn't make any sense. Check the question, because the question here cannot be solved.

1st distribute the 2 to the 4x and the -8 because they are in parentheses.
u get 8x-16=8x+14
2nd subtract the 14 from the 16 and u get
8x-2=8x
3rd subtract 8x from 8x and u get -2=0
this is as far as u can go since the x has dropped out.

Expand {2(4x-8)} into {8x-16}. The equation will then read {8x-16=8x+14}, which simplified states that {-16=14}, which is not possible.

The solution would be the nul set.

2(4x-8)=8x+14
distribute it first when you do this 2 times 4x equals 8x and 2 times -8 equals -16
8x-16=8x+14
add 16 to both sides to get the x by itself then it will be
8x=8x+30
then you subtact 8 x from both sides to get the 30 by itself then
it will be
0=30 but the answer= no solution

{2(4x-8)=8x+14}
8x-16=8x+14
-8x -8x
0x-16=14
+16 +16
0x=30
x=undefined
you cant divide 0 by 30

Ok, let's see.... 2(4x-8)=8x+14...

oh, it's not possible... see... it would end up like this:

8x-16=8x+14, then you'd subtract 8x from both sides, then you'd end up with -16=14, which can never happen. Hope that helped!! ^-^

deal with the bracket 2(4x-8)=8x-16
this implies that 8x-16 =8x+14
This means 8x-8x= 16+14
hence 0x= 30
therefore x =infinity since any number divided by zero equals infinity represented by the symbol horizontal number eight.
hope this help you

That's a really funky algebra problem you got there. If you distribute the left side, you end up with 8x-16=8x+14, which leaves you with..nothing. That's probably why you can't remember how to do it.
