There is "Punishment" and there is"Justice" Where is the Justice for that poor missing child. Justice needs to be "seen to be done". If not, any Tom Dick or Henrietta will feel quite within their rights to leave children without fear of any come back if the McCann case creates precedent

If, as you're saying, that there is not any assure that youngsters will never be abducted etc whether their mom and dad are close to to hand, then it variety of feels somewhat extraordinary to pass away 3 infants below the age of four on their very own all night in a miles off places motel, in an place of abode with the door unlocked. some individuals are quite severe of the section that the McCanns performed interior the kidnapping of their daughter ie they left the youngsters on my own and unprotected. we won't be able to direct our anger in the direction of the abductor because of the fact to this point we have not have been given one!

No. The child is missing because of them, if they get left off (of not looking after the children properly) then that will open up a can of worms, people will be acting irresponsibly (like the McCanns did) and more children will suffer.

"Adam" I see your (good) point but no matter how much the blame for having left the kids alone, the truth must be that the parents really are going through hell.
I don't believe in any abduction theory. I believe there was an accidental death.

Before people terrorise the McCanns they should be sure that they have never made a mistake or have skeletons in their cupboards.
These people have lost a child any are now hounded by people with a sink estate mentality , people whose lives are so boring and miserable that they have to further torment already suffering people.
I often wonder what they did for sport before Maddie went missing , bear baiting or dog fighting ?

No I don't and even an admission of guilt from the McLiars won't make a difference now. They caused this whole mess and as for suffering, you have to be able to 'feel' first..

Edit: catblack. most have made many 'mistakes' but abandoning children is not one of them! That's down right neglect and yes I do have children and no I have never left them alone, loving, caring parents tend not to that.

i have 2 children and i think that anyone coping with a loss of a child at this time particually would be absolutely horrific. my thought and prayers are with the mc cann family and i hope that she is returned safely, punishment doesnt even come into it, i cant stand the people that say that they should be locked up or the other kids should be taken away.
i feel lucky that im spending christmas with my children it must be really hard for the mc canns, could you just imagine how they feel buying a christmas present for wee maddie in the hope of her return, i say everyone should spend a moment on christmas morning with a thought for wee maddie and there parents.
shame on you people that think that if her parents should be locked up or punished put yourself in their shoes if they could turn back the clock im sure things would be different they are human beings too they made a small mistake in thinking their children would be safe and are paying the ultimate price, i feel so sorry for them and pray for for maddies safe return.
GOD BLESS WEE MADDIE I HOPE FOR YOUR SAFE RETURN.

No. jail should be the punishment for neglectful parents, after all they have broken the law. Child neglect in Portugal carries up to 10 years in jail so who put their spoke in and kept them out of jail.?
The reason why they leave their kids alone is that they are selfish party goers who only had children as an accessory .

No.

Their remaining children should be taken into care, where they can be looked after by responsible people.

They should both serve jail sentences and have to attend some sort of parenting school.

They are living in hell right now. Their daughter could be dead or going through some awful situations. They made one hell of a mistake and don't you think they are paying for it now? You obviously cant have children as you seem to be such an INSENSITIVE, CRUEL, SPITEFUL, BIG MOUTHED ,OPINIONATED BASTARD. i HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE LISTENED TO SUCH CRAP COMING OUT OF ONE PERSON'S MOUTH
