are they crazy? why on earth do you have so many lessons each week, and why's it all 2h sessions? unless you're a prodigy or something working overtime to prepare for concerts....but even prodigies don't have so many lessons a week! tell your parents you'd like to rest for a few days - no sane person works on christmas eve, christmas day, new year's eve and new year's day. tell them you've been working so hard every week, and think you at least deserve a break during the holidays. and is your teacher actually willing to teach on all those days? if he/she isn't, then your parents shouldn't force him/her to give you lessons. teachers need to rest too.

That is a lot of piano lessons....once a week is usually enough for most people....and two hours per lesson ?
I think your teacher is ripping somebody off. Whose idea was it to have so many lessons per week ? This does not sound right.
I am very surprised any teacher would work Christmas day.

Time to put a stop to this. Tell them you will no longer practise at all unless the piano lessons are cut back to once per week.....and definitely nothing over Christmas.

I'm surprised your teacher is teaching on those days.
But just be rational and adult about it. It may be because they pay alot of money, regardless of whether you go or not and want to get their moneys worth.

Be grateful that your parents are willing to pay for your lessons and are thinking about you. Many people can't afford a cheap keyboard, much less a piano and lessons 4 times a week.

I know you say it's the holidays, but it just another day to alot of people. What else are you going to do? Sit around and watch football?

Are you sure that your music teacher is offering a piano lesson on these holidays?

You could say the piano teacher needs a holiday too!

Good luck!

I think that's too much. I was a child piano "star" in my local region, playing on TV, radio, for command performances, etc. The key was to always keep it fun. Once it becomes not fun, you resent it and run the risk of quitting.

Sounds like your parents are maniacal about your practicing. Getting your teacher to talk to them will help.

Get your piano teacher and parents in the same room and break down in front of them. These melodramatic catharsis moves might appeal to their emotions.

...But I'm not sure if either your parents or your piano teacher would be that deranged. Are you sure it isn't a bad dream you just had?

You should be happy to be playing your piano and that your parents can afford lessons. Music is something to be enjoyed. If you dislike it that much then you should talk to your parents about giving up.
