The movie reminds me of a christmas story, a boy and his father go to a flea market and buy wooden tops. Then he goes to school and fights them and looses it down a sewer drain? help!!

...the reason why the film probably reminds you of "A Christmas Story", is because it features nearly all the characters from that cherished classic holiday movie, though pretty much all of them are recast. 1994's "My Summer Story" (...also known as "It Runs in the Family") tells the further story of young Ralphie, his brother, his parents and the people & friends around him; this time, it's the summer after Ralphie's yuletide adventures, including the search for the ultimate toy top, a madcap escalating battle-of-the-century between Ralphie's Dad & the next door neighbors (...the hillbilly Bumpus' & their 40-some-odd mangy slobbering dogs), and an outrageous & gut-bustingly funny scene in the town's movie theater, involving Ralphie's Mom and some ill-gotten gravy boats...
