I have an HDTV and I have some avi House episodes that are supposedly HD. Everytime I watch them on my TV, though, the quality is really crappy. I've tried TVersity (using a PS3 as the hub), red white and yellow cables, and burning the files to a DVD. Burning the files to a DVD should at the very least match the quality of a regular House DVD. It doesn't. I burn with the highest quality option, 2 episodes per disc (the House DVD comes with 4 episodes per disc).

The ONLY way to get a TRUE High Definition picture is to connect your computer to your tv using COMPONENT CABLES or HDMI Cables. You can NOT get an HD pic using RCA cables (red, white, yellow). You can NOT get an HD pic using S-Video either. You MUST use Component or HDMI/DVI. Sure, you WILL get a picture using S-video/rca BUT you will NOT get the picture in High Definition. It will be substantially down-converted by the cables used.

S-video cable does work. or You could get a dual monitor video card and alot of cable to run to your TV. My other suggestion is to get a media server for the house. It can serve several purposes for you. Besides connecting it to your tv. You can back everything up from your computers in the house. Check it out. It has alot of reviews. HP is the major player right now builting them. Their are a few off the wall companies that make them also.
