NOTE: I am not a zionist. i am just not politically correct

what does it say to you that 23% Israel's population are arabs.(CIA world factbook).

Despite the face that most arabs have sworn to wipe out, the arabs in Israel have no fear when it comes to being muslim. they get unique housing benefits. they get equal rights and free speech. In public centers even in the Israeli military, there are bilingual signs in Hebrew and in arabic.

Even more bizzar is that the arabs in israel are not trying to escape or run out of israel.

Opinions please

I'm not going to answer this, but point out something to geegee. There are no Palestinians.......none. Those that call themselves Palestinians are without exception either themselves political or criminal exiles from the surrounding Arab states, or descendants of same. The Jews have claimed that land for at least 3000 years. It took a leftist (Hitler) to do something so horrible that the world realized that they should have their land back.

It shows that Israel treats it's non-Jewish citizens slightly better than Arab countries treat their non-Muslim citizens (but only slightly).

Israel wants a Jewish state, Arab countries want a Muslim state. And both countries make laws that push those agendas.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Arab states relish the idea of war with Israel. History shows that pretty clearly, but the Arab state can't win a war against the Jews. So the next best thing for Arabs is to keep Israel as the boogey-man, blame Israel (and by proxy the USA) for their troubles, and at the same time make themselves out as world victims (while simultaneously threatening the world with terrorism).

Great post. And it is absurd that even though you provide factual info and references, those determined to hate Israel STILL won't accept the reality.

Israeli Arabs are full Israeli citizens. They vote, they sit in the knesset (parliament) and they help to set policy. Their views, even when they are critical of Israel, are reported in the media freely.

If Israel is as terrible as some poor misguided people choose to think, why aren't the Israeli Arabs fleeing? Why aren't they seeking sanctuary in one of the neighbouring Arab states?

I have lived in Israel and I have socialised with Israeli Arabs. I found them charming and excellent company. They are not, as one answer wrongly states, 'restricted' to certain areas.

And note, all of this despite there being cases where a small number of Israeli Arabs have been found spying on behalf of hostile Islamic countries.

Israel is a democracy. Anyone who refuses to accept this fact has got something wrong with them, because it's not up for debate, it is FACT.

The purpose of establishing a state with a Jewish majority is to provide a safe haven for Jews, This is because history has shown that Jews have been persecuted as a minority just about everywhere. To "live amongst the people of all nations" is a nice concept, but sorry, been there, done that. The idea of a Jewish majority is not a racist one, it is a response to anti-Jewish racism. Why don't YOU "live amongst the people of all nations"? And why don't you want to acknowledge that the Arabs started the violence against the Jews in 1920?

What does it say about Israel?

It says its a democracy.

Which some of us keep trying to tell others here without much success of it registering.

And for the record, quite of few signs are trilingual. They also include English (especially road signs).

If they can't vote, who elected the 12 (current) Arab members of Knesset? (Parliament)?

What I can't figure out is why so many people think Israel treats its minorities the way Shari'a - type governments treat Dhimmis. Can't go places after dark, can't vote, can't hold office -- right conditions, wrong country!

If I am understanding this question in it proper order, The Arabs dream ,is to kill all Jew:s and take over Israel They are a bold and unwise bunch. My opinion: That will never happen
for Israel is God chosen people. .It will just never happen..
The Bible does not Change, Besides Israel is not scared of the big boys at all..

Well at face value it sort of tells you that the two sides are trying to get along together.....

However, I do not think the Arabs can vote or hold office.. so it might be that they are just being tolerated for the time being.. Israel will throw them out eventually.

Israel does happen to be the most accomplished country in the Middle East. Maybe the 23% have wised up a bit and decided to enjoy some luxurys of life.

I have seen this data before, too. Can't think of where though.

It says that the Israelis are much more tolerate than their Arab neighbors...

but, we already knew that, didn't we?

Thanks for pointing it out.
