we are reading the book "a farewell to arms" and on the test the question was "what does rindald stuff into his gun holder?"
I answered tissue paper
she marked it wrong saying that it was "toilet" paper not tissue paper. I discussed it with her after class and she said that it wasn't the same thing.
Is she being unfair? I mean, in my opinion, toilet paper and tissue paper is the same thing.

I would probably have given you the point. Your answer does show you read the book and were able to recall specific details. Also "toilet tissue" is another name for "toilet paper", so it makes sense that someone would be confused and accidentally write "tissue paper."
However, it is only one question and shouldn't affect your grade that much. If you have already argued it with her and she wouldn't give in, then it's time to move on.
Edit: One B on a test shouldn't drop your grade for the semester. It is true that your answer was technically wrong -- perhaps your teacher was being picky to eliminate lucky guessing (and worrying about which answers qualify for half-credit make assignments soooo much harder to grade).

Did the book call it toilet paper or tissue paper?
Or did it just call it white thin paper with a purpose?
What did the book call it and then you will understand why she marked it wrong.
Toilet tissue is nothing like tissue paper the properties are different, the pupose is different, I doubt seriously it was available in those days either.

Do you want someone to confirm what you already know or do you want to hear justification for what your teacher did? Personally, I would say you got the idea however if tissue paper and toilet paper were the same thing then they would not be called by different names? You know your teacher and probably know that he or she is picky. If you want to contest it you could try but they say the way a teacher grades is the way a teacher grades. Try to get a different teacher for the second semester.
I must say that the teacher seems similar to the one on the Freaky Friday remake.

I have not read the book, but I would imagine that the book uses the words toilet paper. This teacher of your is looking for an exact answer and I would let is set. There is a good chance that your teacher is not going to change her mind.
I would have to say that she is fair on this one.

really, i dont think she is being unfair. Although, if that happened to me, im sure i will be mad too. Anyways, tissure paper is something you use in crafts and is normally colorful. Toliet paper is white and you use it for a rather different purpose...
So they are differnt things, and therefor the question is wrong.
I would like the teacher to say close enough though, i always like teacers who do that.

Technically they are different things but, as a teacher, I probably would have given it to you.
