No. They were very influential for rock music, much more than The Beatles. Great entertainers. I have seen them live several times and they always play as if it were the very first time, ready to impress the audience. One of the best and still refreshing the rock scene for the past 40+ years...

I will always love "The Stones" but won't invest in any of their new material. They have grown stale in the writing dept. I may give Keith's new solo album a spin. But I'll never buy a new Stones album ever again. I would like to see them play live, as I've never had the chance being 62 years old. Whatever.

Yes and no. They personally don't do anything for me, but I was born in the 70s, after their music was already established.
When they were new, they were the first, let's say "grunge" band and quite a groundbreaking sensation. Their look and music shook rock and roll onto new foundation.
If I had been around while that was happening, their music could very well have a different appeal to me.

The Rolling Stones are not overrated.
The Rolling Stones released 55 albums and had a string of 8 albums in a row that made it to number one in the United States!
The Rolling Stones started making music in the early 1960's but did they fade away? No! They just finished a tour in the summer of 2007 that was their highest grossing tour ever!
Longevity alone puts them in a class by themselves!

have to say that up through Some Girls, definitely not overrated. Exile was nothing but uninterrupted brilliance.

after Some Girls? wow, I kinda think so.

Legendary is what best describes them. Keeping a band together for 40+ years and still rocking.
