Chromosomal translocation means that a piece of a chromosome (actually the end of one sister chromatid) breaks off and attaches to another chromosome (to the end of a sister chromatid of a totally different chromosome).

The result? Four gametes are formed during meiosis. Two of those four gametes contain mistakes caused by the translocation. One of the gametes will have the sister chromatid that is missing a section. The other sister chromatid from that chromosome is just fine, and the gamete it goes into is also fine. One of the gametes will have an extra section stuck on one of the sister chromatids - duplicate copies of genes it already had, and probably on the wrong chromosome. The fourth gamete will be fine.
