no, i mean during this time of the year why some people feel that they need someone special in their lives...like a boyfriend or girlfriend.

Just watch your TV for a while - *EVERYTHING* in common culture related to the holiday is depicted as involving couples and families. Maybe they feel that society is telling them that this holiday isn't for them.

I would wager that it's not just america where that happens.
I would be willing to bet that it's an international thing.
And I would go one step further as to say there are many
on earth year round who feel lonely. Christmas time just makes those feelings a little more intense. You see others with family and friends gathered near, you have people who
are partying, and it's natural to feel a feeling of loneliness when you get left out. We should all reach out and try to be friendly with each other. After all, we are all in this together.

Perhapes because most families are spread out all over the country and we can only e-mail or call on the holidays.It is sad.

Because they see others buying gifts for their significant others and kids and planning family things and they know they are missing out on a lot.

Families okay, but the fact that mine is always around makes it hard for me to feel spectacular about having them around.
