Yet I find the same joke on several other sites, and they all say it must not be copied.
How can they all own the copyright? How do I know who owns the copyright?

The copyright says I can't copy and send it, yet the same joke is on several other websites all saying the same thing. But how can they all own the copyright? Some jokes have been travelling around the internet for years!

The copyright they are claiming probably only covers the actual design and original content of the webiste. Jokes that have been around for years are in the public domain and are, as such, not covered by copyright.

Can you post a link to the joke? I've never had a problem just cutting and pasting things that I want to send along to friends.
