Dawn Power Dissolver is relatively new to the market I found it about 6 months ago, (it is either new or I am slow to find stuff)it is great for build up on pots and pans, for burnt on grease on the stove top, I also use it in my convection/microwave combination oven. It is less harsh than oven cleaner, you spray it on and the build up dissolves, layers of gunk..disolve, it takes very little elbow grease and I don't need to wear rubber gloves, I just use soap and water to do the finish cleaning... It comes in a Dark Blue spray bottle and is Mfg by Proctor and Gamble.

amonia seems to work best. Its one of those aweful things that take forever to get off. The really best way is to wash it off almost immediately, but that's usually right when its time to eat! lol But seriously, after you're done cooking, take your sponge and just wipe over the most difficult spots to keep them moist. Then when you do the dishes, wipe it again to keep it moist till you're ready to spray some stuff on it.
I don't like the oxy products, as I don't find that they work. I've tried straight clorox, but it smells, and I don't really notice much difference. Dripless windex helps a little, but I think its the amonia in it that's doing it.

A scrubbing sponge, a sink full of hot soapy water, and baking soda. Baking soda's great for removing grease from a lot of stuff.

Be careful, some of the suggestion listed above will scratch or damage the finish of your stove........sort of defeats the purpose....
