i was a minor at the time of the writing.

i used my initials for my address. i sent stamps and the stamps were confiscated. could i have been cataloged?

There is no reason for them to do so unless that person was in a Federal prison for committing some heinous crime and the authorities had not yet apprehended some possible conspirators or cohorts of that prisoner.
The stamps were confiscated because they could have been adulterated with some chemical that would allow the recipient to get "high", poison another inmate, or extract the adulteration for use in an explosive device to achieve escape.
