*I mean a serial killer type murderer
*and what I'm getting at is just because a person doesn't use his ethics doesn't mean he doesn't have them, correct?

Sure they do, it's just that their ethics and most everyone else's are at odds.

Well what type of murderers are you taking about?

Vigilantes- usually are trying to avenge what went wrong and go through the entire trial of ethics.

Self-defense murderers- weighing the option of their life and the agressors life, go through a lot of turmoil before reaching the decision, so they are ethical.

I take you mean serial killers, one thing about them, is they lose the sense of regulation and the sense of reality, which their life is a whirlwind of events. They don't follow the rules and regulations of everyday citizens, in this concept they have a false sense of reality, hence cause a big cloud to fall over the concept of ethics. They may see killing as a source of relief, which in all normal sense doesn't make any sense.

So serial killers do not belief or follow the concept of ethics, they don't have a code to follow or a standard.

Just thought I would through a wrench in the argument that a murder can't have ethics
If a murder murders someone because they know that the person has killed Innocent people and will likely kill Innocent people again and has stated as much, say children for instance, then would it be ethical to end that persons life if you had no other options that would prevent them from murdering others.

Of course. Your query is very broad so, in general, whatever moral code a person observes in order to allow him to continue a certain activity would be defined as his ethics. Some purveyors of death have very different ethics than others, and, it would be relatively univerally agreed that their ethics and ours are very different, but, they still do in fact have them. Good luck and God Bless.

Regardless if it's for revenge, justice, whatever; the minute you decide that you have the "right' to take someone's life from them, something you aren't capable of returning, is the minute you've lost all moral and ethical perspective.

Depends. I recommend you read the book "Makes Me Wanna Holler" by Nathan McCall. It won't answer your question, but you'll get closer to finding the answer.

Some do. Some killed because they lost control of themselves temporarily and regret it .Not all killers are stone cold.

depends.

murderer could kill only bad guys or reverse.

he or she could kill for revenge or other outside stimulus.

it all depends on what type of murderer you are talking about.
