What should I get my 12 year old son for christmas other then video games?

Street hockey is fun and he can play it year round. You can get the balls and sticks in sporting goods stores.

He might like a skateboard or if he has one and you enjoy building, you could get plans for a half-pipe and the two of you could build it.

i am a 15 year old but years 12- 15 want nearly the same stuff, i would like ipod, sports gear, the cherub series in books thats maybe what your son might like

How about volunteering to get him into a local little league base outball, soccer or tennis lessons. There are also kits to make remote control cars or airplanes. The latter are fun and have to get him out to try them

If you want to get him outside I wouldn't get him any video games at all. You could get him a new bicycle, or get him involved in a hobby/sport outdoors.

depending on how involved you want to be with your sons activity, i would suggest getting him into R/C cars, planes, or boats.
when i was that age, my mother took me to a hobbyshop after much begging. i bought my first r/c truck and started racing. i then got into boats and planes. i joined an r/c flying club and that really kept me out of trouble in my early teen years.
while it does cost alot to get into hooby grade r/c, it is worth it
