i used to believe the so called scientific consensus regarding global warming and the resultant extreme weather events. since the 2005 hurricane season there have only been 2 hurricanes that made landfall in the us in the past 2 years. this after the us national oceanic and atmospheric administration predected 2006 to be one of the most active seasons and the again in 2007! they werent only off base but they were diametrically opposite to what actually happened! they also say the sea level will rise. i live near the water and its still at the same level as when i was a kid. maybe global warming is ocurring but i have to see it for myself before i believe it. theres always going to be doomsayers, in the 70s it was global cooling. the earth has naturally warmed and cooled countless times before and no other species is, or has ever been as resilient and adaptable than the human race. in my opinion the warming and cooling of the earth are more likely natural and to attempt to oppose this phenomenon is a lesson in futility. if we are really concerned about the extreme weather resulting from global warming then why are we repopulating a city that lies under sea level (new orleans)? think about it!

I like to follow the Monty Python philosophy -
Suddenly..........Nothing Happened.
.
All the planets have lined up before, it is not unique, they are not close enough to affect the weather, or tides, or earthquakes etc, etc. There is nothing mystical or magical about the planets.
Relax and go back to sleep.

Well global warming will maybe make it a bit warmer, but I predict mild, partially cloudy days, followed by clear and balmy nights.

well on the history channel they said the second coming would happen in 2012 and trust me that would change the weather but i don't exactly trust that because the bible says no one knows that day nor the hour the Son of Man will come only God knows.

but...
I think nothing is going to happen (that's only if we fix the pollution problem that is going on now...)
...yea like the last poster said...
nobody knows when the son of heaven will come down to earth
it's best not to assume anything
