The last ones we got were microfiber and the salesman swore that the material was good for people who have dogs because dog hair would wipe right off. He was wrong. I want to avoid that same mistake. Can anyone tell me the best material for a couch that dog hair does not stick to-other than leather. Thanks.

I have a chenille type material sofa..... I vacuum it about once/twice a week... Although, if it were me getting a brand new sofa.. I would NOT be letting the dog get on it.. Your best bet is to get a nice quality dog bed.... Also, look for machine washable fabrics.. I have removeable cushions that the covers zip off... I wash my covers twice a year... I've also re-stuffed them if they get flat or out of shape.... Good luck
