My Mom never laid a hand on me that I remember but she used a thin wispy willow limb to strike me across the back side when i needed it. I would yell and scream but it was all an act coz it really didn't even hurt at all. My Dad didn't hold back at all though. He would punch me like I was a grown man equal to him and his favorite thing was to put his boot in the seat of my pants and I mean HARD too! If he did that in this day and age he would be in prison for child abuse I'm sure. The bottom line is that it worked coz i was never in trouble with the cops and I did good with my schooling and I grew up to be a pretty decent person as opposed to the kids growing up without discipline and guidance today. My feeling is there is nothing wrong with corporal punishment as long as it is within reason and not done to a young child that really doesn't know any better.
I truly believe in the old saying 'spare the rod and spoil the child' however I am from the old school and glad of it!

Still growing up. I used to get spanked, yes, but it wasn't too often and I mostly deserved it. I'm 15 now and every once in a while I get slapped for something like backtalk. Big no no. <3

Nope, Thankfully..
I feel terrible hearing stories, about people that get beat-up, for family problems, drinking problems, metnal problems, drug's... But in some ways it can't be helped..
When adults hit younger children, some of those who are sick enouth enjoy it...He might of got brung up getting hit, or bullied,and for him to be in charge for once he likes it..
There is no exsuse though for anyone who hits their family, or anyone unless self defesive..
So No, they didn't, but if they did for you, I hope you get through the times, if your still young, and it happen call childline, because who knows under all the bruises, if there might be a star!

I was spanked on many occasions. I was never beaten. The funny part is I can remember that I was spanked but I can't remember the circumstances around any save one. I got in trouble once and I shouldn't have been the one punished. It's odd the things that stick with you.

I wish they did. At least that would have meant they acknowledged me. They completely ignored me for 15 years. They weren't even a part of me growing up.

well i was born in PR and anithing u did bad they will hit ya it didnt matter if they were your parents or not so yeah but i came from a abusive dad so it was out of normal!!!
i was a good girl but what can isay he drank alot!!

Yes, but very rarely. And to be honest, most of the time I had really tried to push them too far. As I result, I rarely ever smacked mine.

Although one time, I was going through some teenage angst-y crap and called my mom a b**ch, and she did slap me...
In retrospect, I would probably slap someone that called me a b**ch to my face, who wasn't joking around.
Or at least be tempted to, really badly.
