They get to you after awhile. The obvious just isn't obvious enough for some people. A LOT of people. So many want to make the world a joke free place, while the others want to make people laugh.

When you see her in class, I think you should say "Hi, -her name!", smile at her, and proceed to your seat. That way, in case she wasn't actually interested before, she'll be intrigued by you. She will think about that simple 'hi' for a little while, trust me. Since she already knows who you are, it's already easier for you. By greeting her everyday, she'll think about you more and more. She'll really wonder if it's because you like her or you're just being a nice guy. Either way, you'll cross her mind. And smiling is attractive, so a friendly non-creepy smile should show her what you're about. When you think the time is right, go to her desk one day (when she's not talking/busy) and just start talking about anything. Anything that seems appropriate, that is. School work, what you're going to be doing in class that day, your shared classes, her other classes...engage in conversation. Even though you might not care what she has to say about school, most girls just love talking. Let her talk most of the time, and throw in a few comments here and there, etc. That way, you'll get to talk to her about other things. Talking about school usually leads to other things like interests. The time will come when you're going to realize whether or not you really like this girl. Hopefully she'll return any feelings you have for her when you're sure about your own. Good luck!

We are limited when we read a question because we cannot see the person's face or gestures. Sometimes when I think a question is humorous, it's serious, and my answer seems flip. Although, with your questions, Wally, there is not that dilemma. Those people who answer seriously haven't met your funny bone!

Sometimes you ask serious questions for knowledge sake, but for your humorous ones, how anybody could take them seriously is beyond me! Guess those are folks who never told knock knock jokes! LOL - I mean, for real, crossing hippopotamuses with every other animal known to man? Gimme a break - THAT IS FUNNY and meant to receive an equally funny and silly answer :-)

Some people just don't have a well developed sense of humor. They just don't get it when you joke with them. You have to explain the simplest silly little jokes to them. (By the time I get through explaining it the joke doesn't even seem funny to me!) Serious answers are all they have Wally. They are doing the best they can.

Oh good. I thought it was just me! Some people it seems are not lateral thinkers or have no sense of irony, but that's OK. We are not all the same, and when I get a serious answer at least someone is concerned enough to post it.

As in life, we don't all share the same sense of humor and maybe some folks think you are serious. Think how far reaching this site is. Waaaaay out there!!!!

Watch out, Wally, we'll be thinking all your questions are goofy and you'll never get another serious answer.
