I dont do them, I use messenger occasionally for a couple of friends, I think there are some lurkers on there that are best avoided. I prefer to make my friends in the real world

When I was new to the computer about 6 years ago I went to a chat room just to see what they were about. I typed hi and was deluged with message after message for hot pics of nude girls. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and didn't bother going back.

I have not been in a chat room since 2002 and back then they were a lot of fun.

Used to, it was a fun way to fill down-time. Got to talk to a lot of interesting people. But, you have to get on at the right time of the day or make sure you are in the right room, otherwise you end up watching some stupid fight between prepubescent boys and girls.

I use Yahoo chat rooms once in a while, I always have my IMs off so people I don't know can't bother me :D

No, not on Yahoo. Most of them are weirdos, and perverts.
You never know who you're talking to in chat rooms, unless you're talking to someone you know in real life on there.

When I first started on the computer I did only some of them were disgusting so I didn't go on them again that's about 6 years ago.

I tried them...most people were ...more like not saying anything or just saying something bad about somene else in there....
....kind of like....im....all the guys...usually are just playing...some are being funny or romantic...but not real...better to talk with someone in person....the internet can be a great source of information...but also many players that try to take advantage of other people...
...so always be careful....
