The lithosphere is defined as all of the crust and some of the mantle.

lithosphere means outer shell so its the outer shell of the earth and the farthest layer of the lithosphere is the crust we live on

It is crust. The thickness will be around 30 k/m in land and as low as 5 k/m under sea. see the picture in my web.
