Absolutely! It should be a higher point reduction, though, like 250 or so. I think it would cut down on a lot of "bogus reporting" and might put the fun back into reaching level 6 or higher. It is not right that just anyone can hit that report button without a "justifiable" reason. My opinion, of course. I think Yahoo would be hurting from the amount of users that get violated and don't come back, but who knows just what Yahoo's agenda is anyway?
Thanks for asking!

Hello.
I agree that the person who is reported should know who reported them and why.
I do not believe that the 50 point deduction is a good idea. What some people find offensive, others may not, therefore you may get a 50 point deduction for a legitamite report!!!
However, if Yahoo! Answers had a commitee of people who looked over supposidly "bogus" reports, it may make the process take longer, but more officient. If that was the case, then a 50 point deduction could be accpetable.

Of course, dear.
I see why it would be mayhem if we could see just who did report us, we'd have something akin to road rage...Y!Rage, lol. I've heard others suggest that if you make a bogus report you could lose your reporting privileges altogether. Maybe start with suspensions first. I'm with ya, SEA-BAT. I have seen too many good people attacked and violated to suspension, many times, just because they have a point of view that doesn't jive with some report-happy mousie.
Can I work for Yahoo! from home, do you think?

A-B-S-O-L-U-T-L-E-Y.........There would be no reason for the person getting reported to seek retribution. Especially if a person files 3 or more bogus reports within, lets just say 2 weeks. Also, if you have to be at level 2 or 3 it would keep these fly by nighters out too!!
As bad as i hate to say it, THAT IS ONE HECK OF AN IDEA!
Wonder why these geniuses haven't thought of that before?
OH, yes..........JOB OPENINGS! HEHEHEHE

I will admit that some people who report should be more lenient in some of the "violations" they report. Confidentiality must be maintained for the sake of the good reporters or what would be the good of reporting violators at all? I agree too that there should be a block on reporting until users reach at least level 3. This would also weed out pests that ask so many questions that they never accumulate enough points to report violators.

A)behind their finger
B)behind their screen

Yahoo describes the trolls on patrols, the racists, the rude and the plain uneducated ,as a ''diverse community'' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
