Basically every time I switch on my PC within 3 mins the monitor turns off. Then I have to turn my PC off and on again sometimes up to 5 times before the monitor starts to work again. But yet again after around 3 mins the monitor goes off. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with my graphics card as it is brand new and exactly the same as my old one. (I had no problems with my old card or my PC at that time)
I have a new hard drive and there is def nothing wrong with my power supply as it has been tested and is in perfect working order.
It is not the cable. Could it be a fault with my monitor? Or is it more serious? At the moment it is not worth having a PC as I can't really do anything in 3 mins. It has took me many tries just to write this.
PLEASE OFFER A SOLUTION. WHAT COULD IT BE AND WHAT IS IT NOT? WHAT CAN I TRY? PLEASE HELP.
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE.

AND ALSO. SOMETIMES MY MONITOR FLASHES ON AND OFF. SOMETIMES IT GOES DIFFERENT COLOURS. SOMETIMES IT GOES FUZZY. WHICH ALWAYS LEADS IN THE END TO MY MONITOR TURNING OFF AND HAVING TO RE-START MY PC UP TO 5 TIMES BEFORE IT WORKS AGAIN.

i think the problem is with the pins on your monitor i would undo the monitor from the pc check the pins are straight then clean the monitor connection when do check where the monitor fits on the pc and blow on the holes for excess dust and the check the connection on the pc to see if it is marked if it is and you have now straighten the pins and last of all check the mains plug is plug in to the monitor correctly plug back in and start the computer

I would think it is a problem with the monitor if you are sure that it is not the cable. My first thought was that the cable is loose but if you are sure that's not the case, it sounds like there is something wrong with the monitor and it may stop working completely. If it is still under warranty take it in to have it looked at.
Now that you're saying the monitor flashes different colours and goes fuzzy I would think for sure it is a problem with the monitor. You can try hooking it up to someone else's computer to see if it does the same thing. If so, it is the monitor..

A simple swap test will identify the faulty component....
Try your monitor on another computer, and another monitor on yours. Wherever the fault remains that's where the problem is.
If the graphics card is "brand new" then it may well be the source of the problem. The timed nature of the fault makes it unlikely to be a driver problem, sounds more like a flaw that is worsened by "warming up". could be a duff joint in some hardware component.
Good luck.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com
It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

It is impossible to really what exactly the problem is having to diagnose your problem online, but what your should do is test the monitor on a different computer to see if it turns on and works in a normal fashion. If it does than your video card may be in need of a driver update, if it doesn't than your monitor could be defective. Hard to say without having a look at it.

from what you have said this sounds like a faulty connection for example when your monitor heats up mettalic objects/components tend to expand making the connection loose. also try altering the power management on your computer so the monitor never switches off this may be a something as simple as a driver problem. do you use a vga to dvi connector on your graphics this may be a source as well. hope this has helped you in some way.

Hi before changing any settings , if you have a spare monitor change ,and try with it,
very hard to diagnose monitor problems,
check your bios settings. or if monitor was working before (staying on) try a systems restore os xp,
your resolution or refresh rate may be to high or to low.
just Brain storming. good luck
