Im writing an essay on the topic of jealosy. In this essay I am comparing a novel and a play with the same theme of jealousy. The novel is, "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck and the play is, "Othello" by William Shakespeare. I can't seem to write a good opening sentence that will make a reader want to read my essay. If you could give me a few ideas on how to start it, I would be very appreciative. Thank you

Well, I wrote an essay on Hamlet by Shakespeare, and I loved how it came out, I'll give you the opening, maybe that'll give you ideas-good luck, hope i helped out!! Hamlet is singular in its kind: a tragedy of thought inspiered by continual and never-satisfied meditation on human destiny and the dark perplexity of the events of the world. Calculated to call forth the very same meditation in the minds of the spectators. The enigmatical work resembles those irrational equations on which a fraction of unknown magnitude always remains, that will in no way admit of solution. Hamlet is full of conflicts that oppose people to other people, to society, and to themselves. Hamlet’s inner conflict is his self-reflective, confrontational nature combining with his experiences of anger, grief, and revenge over the murder of his father, betrayal from his friends and family, and confusion over his mother’s fast and sudden marriage. Hamlet’s inner conflict transforms his character, creates external tensions, and contributes to the academic debate about his motivation.
