I need a husband to help me assemble this desk I bought from China. Of course, he has to be cute and smart also. But in the meantime these instructions are making no sense! So, desk parts are laying around all over the floor.

Wish I could help. I love building/assembling furniture and wood products, but I am already married and my darling Hunny Bunny doesnt share. (Neither do I). It works well for us, anyway. Good luck.

LOL, you want a HUSBAND that has fun assembling RTA furniture? I hope you put this on Santa's list as I doubt you will find one here on Answers. ;)
I am female, worked for a national company that made (in China) RTA (ready to assemble) furniture items. It is only fun once you have gotten the item together and you can step back and be very proud of yourself!
The best thing to do is to first make sure you have the correct number of hardware (screws, etc. ) peices. If not, there's often a phone number of the US company that markets the item on the instructions or can be found on line by entering the mfgr name on the carton. Try laying things out as the diagram shows- for example, a desk should have a top, sides, legs, etc. Lay those out as common sense tells you. Often the written instructions are awful but there will be enlarged photos of each sized screw, bolt, etc. and an arrow pointing to the diagram of the desk showing the proper placement. Just take your time and don't force anything- if you get some of the locking type hardware on the wrong place, you are pretty much doomed. If you locate a phone number on the instructions or on line, call them, they often have US companies that can help w/ specific assembly questions once you have it all laid out and familiarize yourself w/ the peices and hardware. Finallly, this desk might be an antique before you locate a husband AND a handy one, lol, so see if a neighbor or relative would help. Teens are great w/ instructions. It IS the holiday season and someone might just be willing to help to pass along the joy of the season. Good luck!

9/10ths of the instructions for products made in china are from people who have no idea what they are writing...most of the instructions are incomplete or make no sense or both...try to reason the assembly out...
