So far mine is 7 years old, and many people think thats a long time. The truth is its really not. Many people get goldfish, keep them in a small fishbowl, not filter, and keep it there forever. This way they are stunting their growth, which is quite unhealthy. Its not uncommon for a well kept goldfish to be kept for 20-30 years. Goldfish really need a minimum of 30 gallons for the fancy varieties, and 75 for the common (ex. feeder fish, comets, shubunkin, etc...)

My oldest goldfish is 12 years old and about a foot long. All my others range from 6-1 years old. Goldfish kept in large tanks or ponds that are properly cared for can live for 30 years.

i could propose against using goldfish as prizes, because of the fact few human beings comprehend the thank you to guard them. they might strengthen to a foot or extra, and few human beings can improve to that length of tank. extremely, attempt rosy purple minnows. There colourful, and would stay in extremely small tanks whilst in comparison with goldfish. i could say the min for them could be a 2.5 gallon tank for 3, and 5 for a 5 gallon tank. you need to even sell tank kits for them. besides, to maintain them alive, get a extensive cooler, fill it with water, and get a aerator to maintain the fish alive. additionally, save the cooler in a shady place to maintain the cooler cool. luggage won't artwork. final, it extremely is advisable to offer out unfastened care sheets to the winners. desire this helps!!! P.S. in case you will stumble on them, feeder guppies and white cloud minnows could artwork even extra desirable than the rosy purple minnows. P.S.S. The fish I indexed nevertheless would desire to be with reference to the comparable cost because of the fact the feeder goldfish,10-20 cents a chew.
