...after further checking, I found out that "Godzilla 3D" is definitely happening, but just for IMAX presentation; the project reportedly took a long while to develop, financial. After they got those financial wrinkles ironed out, it was announced that production on the film would commence around February, of 2008. Conservatively, I wouldn't expect a stateside release of the film until about Spring of 2009...
...being that the premise of "Godzilla 3D" reportedly bears yet another environmental message, akin to the original early 60's or late 70's film, "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" (aka "...the Smog Monster"), the creature being called Deathla, is reportedly an incarnation of the original Hedorah (...hmmm, maybe Godzilla didn't quite destroy all of those Hedorah eggs, after all!!!)...
