give great advice but not follow it?

Everyone does sometimes, but I think a hypocrite is someone that consistantly speaks out against something and then secretly does it (like preachers who speak against the horrors of homosexuality and drugs and then, come to find out, they are smoking meth and having sex with male prostitutes...)
As opposed to someone who knows the right thing to do, and are able to give advice to others as to what to do, and then do not follow their own advice.
Those people are just human, and perhaps suffer from bad judgement as opposed to hypocrisy.

I can be at really rare times, but id say atleast 98% of the time, before i say or do anything i put my self in that position, and think, well id do the same, so dont give them any other advice!

i find that lots of time i will give advice and then do exactly what i had just said not to do or etc. but i usually catch myself and stop myself. i think we are all a hypocrite at one time or another -- its hard not to be.

Yes, I suppose. But only if you can catch me at it.
Not so much a hypocrite as constantly contradicting myself, though. My lives are split in two, I'm two different people to any number of strangers. It's hard to keep stories straight.

Used to be up until about 6 weeks ago. I had a life changing experience. A guy I know shot himself. I hated his missus for years. Now I dont. God help her now especially since its Christmas and I have my family around me.

I try not to be, but I probably am. I think everyone does hypocritical stuff sometimes.

Indeed, I am. I give great advice to all my friends, but when they critique me, I fall apart and. It's like i'm trying to be perfect, but in reality it isnot possible. We all are hypocrites. We all contradict ourselves. Let's be proud of who we are.
