I have a house full of animals. Dogs, birds, cats, rat, snake, lizards, tarantulas, etc. You get the picture. I clean up after all of my babies almost fanatically because I don't want the house to smell like a zoo. The trick is to have a variety of pets with their own spaces. People enjoy coming to the house and hanging out. All of my pets are very well socialized. You want to make sure you have time to love all of them. I have stopped taking in pets (all of my babies are rescues) because I can tell I'm reaching my love limit.

I bought a Duck once from a lady that had a farm and it had a terrible smell to it (the farm not the duck). The point I'm trying to make is. When you have that many animals. It's nearly impossible to have a pleasant scent present. Nobody says you can't give it a try though. I wouldn't say that you were a dirty person. Unless the inside of your home had a foul order to it.

You're right, that is true. When I had my dog I once remember getting a comment from a bratty girl in middle school that I "smelled like dog". Well, no kidding.
Some people just don't like animals and moreover their scents. They assume the musty odor means the animals are filthy and thus unhealthy to be around when that's not true at all.
The more animals you have the more difficult it will be to maintain a clean house. But seriously, as if people who have children have constantly clean houses? Both children and pets can be menaces to tidy people. But it's the company and happiness we get from having them around that matters.

I wouldn't worry much about what people think. As long as you keep your home clean and clean up after the animals, then your home will be as clean as someone without pets. We have 3 cats and several birds, and a couple of large aqauriums, but you wouldn't be able to tell it by the way our home looks or smells.
Since you are very clean to begin with, I don't think that you will have a problem. I don't personally see people who have lots of animals as having a dirty house...just as people who like animals!

If you keep yourself and your house (and pets) clean, it won't matter. This may mean the chore of vacuuming 2 or 3 times a day- so what? We have 6 dogs (though 2 are non-shedding) and we constantly get comments from guests about how they wouldn't believe it if they didn't see the dogs with their own eyes, our house is so clean. It's extra work, but can be done.

If you keep your animals clean, look after them well then there is no reason for people to think you smell - because you wont.
Remember - it will involve a lot of work. At present I have two rabbits and I clean them out a minimum of three times a week; more in summer.

There is no problem with that, and I'm sure that you are well-intentioned. However, it is possible for some people to become obsessive about taking in stray animals. That's why we often hear on the news about dear old ladies whose houses are full of cats and dogs, all living in unhygienic conditions, and the surviving animals then have to be re-homed.
