Ya she was @ a really young age but hey, i imagine it being worthwhile knowing that she was giving birth to the son of God. I wouldnt want to be in that position cause of the pressure. Im sure it hurt even more but God chose her to be a mother so i think she made it out okay.

Well first off labor and delivery isnt pleasant but I've done two natural (no pain meds of any kind) and its really not that bad. Also you should keep in mind Jesus probibly wasnt like a 8 or 9 lbs baby, the adverage baby is between 6 and 7 lbs so not very large. Yeah it hurt, but you really do forget soon after. The pain stops. Also she may have been preggo but that dosnt mean she was a virgin when she gave birth. She was MARRIED. It was a virgin conception, that is why they call it "virgin birth" not that she was a virgin at the time of giving birth. Having been pregnant a couple times I can tell you hormones are a lovely thing as is no fear of getting pregnant again and well you can have sex while pregnant. I'm sure Joseph and Mary consamated their marrage (they had sex) like normal couples do. Also the hymen breaking dosent hurt that bad from what I remember. It only hurts for a second and also with the amount of manual labor she did she may have torn it long before that. The hymen isnt always an accurate form of telling if someone is a Virgin. Some people can have sex a million times and still have their hymen intact.

Honey... it was a manger, not a cave. I imagine it did hurt her a great deal, as it hurts all the other mothers. Back then you were considered old enough to be married and have kids at that age. Women have become weak especially since now there are pain relief options, back then it probably wasn't as bad because you knew it was the only way. Plenty of women still give birth without any medicine or anything now a days too, and they all comeout fine too. And I'm sure they were use to the smell of animlas since the animals were around constantly.

I am going to say the same as everyone else - you are addicted and when you don't eat the fast food your body has withdrawal symptoms. You can do two things: 1. Cut down. Eat fast food once or twice a week, you shouldn't go staright to no times as it will be very hard. Once your brain stops huting after eating once a week try once a month, then once a year and then if you can occasionally just for a treat. To help you, also try going to different resteraunts. 2. Go and see a Doctor. They can refer you to a nutritionist who can help you change your lifestyle they can also refer you to a Psychiatrist who will find the cause and treat your addiction. Your best bet is to do both. Good Luck! Breaking habit and addiction isn't easy but I'm sure you can do it.

First of all, let me set the record straight about a few things: Mary found out she was pregnant with Jesus while she and Joseph were BETROTHED, NOT MARRIED. Once this was known, Joseph hesitated, and in fact, was looking for a way to break the betrothal without disgracing Mary publically, because that would in all likelyhood have resulted in her being stoned to death as an adultress. Joseph decided to go ahead with the marriage only AFTER the archangel Gabriel had come to him in a dream and reassured him that Mary's pregnancy was the result of the Holy Spirit, and not because she had been with another man before marriage.
As for whatever pain Mary experienced while giving birth, let me remind you of a few things. First, it was common in that era for women her age to be married and have kids- most women got married around the time they had their first period ( or menarche, as it is called in medical terms) at the age of 12 or 13. Mary's betrothal to Joseph was a normal, expected life event at that time, and she was considered to be a woman in every sense of the word. Secondly, the presence or abscence of an intact hymen is NOT always proof of virginity- and the hymen is often broken during early childhood by common activities, such as horseback riding. Considering that horses and donkeys, and the Asiatic wild a** were the main means of transport back then, it's quite likely that Mary may have experienced a natural rupture of her hymen at some point in time, probably well before she ever met or heard of Joseph. This would not have made her any less a virgin. It's also worth remembering that many women are born WITHOUT a hymen at all. Does this mean they aren't virgins as young girls? Of course not. For all we know, Mary may very well have been one of these women.
Jesus was born in a stable, yes, but it's not likely that he was actually born in a manger, or a hay rack for the animals, because most hay racks were (and are) small and could not accomodate someone his mother's size, especially not while she was in labor and giving birth to Jesus. No, Mary gave birth to her Son on the floor of the stable, and then wrapped Him up and laid Him in the manger when He was a few minutes old. Keep in mind as well that the only reason this happened in a stable was because the innkeeper said the inn was full- had he been a little less selfish, Mary would have given birth in one of the inn's rooms. As it was, the animals in the stable were useful to both Mary and Joseph, and later to Jesus. They helped keep Mary and Joseph warm ( there are accounts of the sheep and even the lambs snuggling up beside her while she was in pain from giving birth) and the cows provided milk for the Holy Family to drink. The donkey who had carried Mary to the stable and to Bethlehem also carried her and the Lord home afterwards. True, there was no anesthesia or modern medicine available in that age- but Mary had another ally on her side- she had God. When she was in pain from giving birth, all she had to do was ask God for strength, and HE would give it to her. That's what she did, and how she got through what might otherwise have been a very risky ordeal for BOTH mother and baby. Childbirth in that time was often a death sentence for the mother, simply because women had too many pregnancies too close together, and because so many of the women were often very young. Likewise, infection was a huge problem then, because nothing was known of modern medicine or sanitation like it is now.
Did Mary and Joseph have other children? Yes, because the Bible is full of references to Jesus's brothers. It's also known that at least one of the disciples, James, was a half brother of Jesus, and there is evidence that Jesus may have had many other siblings as well. It can also be inferred that the Holy couple had a normal marriage and marital relationship, which means that yes, they had sex. I doubt, however, that Mary experienced pain the first time she actually had sex with Joseph, because it's all too likely that her hymen got broken long before. Jesus's birth didn't break it- and even if that had been the case, any pain Mary felt from that would have been very minor.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

To correct the answerer that said Mary found out about Jesus after she was married to Joseph, Mary found out before wedding Joseph. That was why she was so mortified- because she was pregant out of wedlock and Joseph, despite the rumors about Mary, got married to her anyway.

Jesus was conceived of "imaculate conception" But shortly after she found out she was pregnant her and Joseph got married. I am pretty sure they had sex before he was born. And I am sure she didn't have to suffer that much since it was the lords child. And she had to ride a donkey for a while the smell of animals must have been the norm back then.

Birth hurts for everyone.
And I believe they were in a manger.
Christmas isn't just a religious holiday. Its also about being with family. Many of my Wiccian friends celebrate Christmas to be with their Christian realitives or just to spend time with their household family.

Hmmm how old are you?
Pregnancy hurts, regardless of your age. And back then, most people were having kids at that age.
