It's not the end of the world -- there are many other fine universities.

This is a very competitive school to get into, so you might have to wait to see if someone doesn't accept their slot -- call the admissions office and ask them all your questions.

Get some more recommendations, and send in some grades from your senior year. Show them that THAT IS WHERE YOU WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL and that you will do anything to get there. If they deny you, there's always the appeals process, which gives you another chance. There's always some crazy way around rejection letters. Just keep your hopes high. Best of luck!

Re-apply. Also, consider enrolling at another university for a year and applying for transfer.

One thing, though: Living in a freshman dorm gives you a lot of really great friendships that you'll miss out on if you transfer in as a sophomore. So, for your own sake, make sure if you DO transfer to Wash U as a sophomore that you live in a dormitory your first year there. You'll be glad you did.

Well, everyone in my family has gone there, and they're really into alums, and people who are "high school all stars." You might want to change your application if you re-apply. You def should re-apply though, because people might have turned down their acceptance. It's an awesome school. So much fun there!!

Not sure, but I'd recommend you put this in the Education/Higher Education category. You'd probably get more answers.

I would apply to your second choice for next year. If you do well you can always apply to transfer later
