concerned about the closet terrorism going on? We are allowing our poor and the children of the poor to be terrorized by not giving them affordable access to organic foods. Why does this not concern and alarm people?

I am a natural foods shopper myself. I'm vegetarian- nearly vegan. I try to eat mostly organic foods, but I'm more concerned with eating lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes and little or no junk foods.

You can get more calories by eating lower-nutrition foods such as white bread, pasta, sugar, added oils, dairy, etc. Eating healthier foods such as fruits and vegetables costs a lot more, and many poor people can't afford to eat many fruits and vegetables.

So, poor people can't afford to eat healthy. There is no way you could afford to eat the minimum recommended amount of fruits and vegetables on food stamps. Click on this link for an article about how poor people can't afford fruits and vegetables:

This makes poor people more prone to diseases, including heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. You are right that poor people and children should be given access to healthy foods.

Many food banks are very low in fruits and vegetables also because they prefer foods that can be stored without spoiling. Bulk and canned items are preferred over fresh fruits and vegetables.

But organic foods are really catching on. I remember the times when only a few hippy co-ops in college towns had them. Now, every grocery store in the country almost has some organic foods.

I'm glad you are concerned about eating healthy food. That's what keeps you so beautiful. :)

The better question is why hasn't Bush been thrown out of the white house for investing all of our hard earned tax money that should be going to the poor in our country and towards fixing our country first and instead investing it in his piggy bank aka IRAQ and feeding a monster called a war with no basis!? It is time out heroes, out troops come home and fight what needs to be fought, it is time our troops come home to their families and loved ones! Bush should be in jail, he is the real terrorist, invading Iraq and killing all those people was wrong, if he wanted to go after terrorists he should have gone to Afghanistan and cut the bad tree from it's roots! BRING OUR TROOPS HOME, AMERICA IS WHERE OUR HEROES SHOULD BE!!! And ANTHONY SPEARS, organic food is better than processed food baby, if you want to know check how healthy a Brazilian person is and how healthy you are, Brazilian people only eat organic things, well not only, but 70 or 80% of the things they eat are organic and they are much healthier than we Americans are. I have a friend from Brazil who came here to visit and was shocked over how the chicken here tastes like medication and the one in Brazil doesn't. She said that in Brazil you can leave chicken in the fridge for days and it tastes the same as the first day you cooked, here you could NEVER do that.

I don't think people have been thoroughly convinced of the benefits organic food has over processed foods, including myself.

Oh it is awful, but when you have a yellow bellied heartless president who only cares about oil in other countries what can we expect. I think they ought to oust him for all his lies to us.
